I thought I'd share some photos from my recent trip to Wales, Utah!

It's in Central Utah, just west of Spring City & is pretty small, population of around 300 people.

It was named by the Welsh immigrants that arrived there to mine coal in 1854. Brigham Young had been shown a piece of coal by a prominent Ute called Tabison (who called it "rock that burns") Young recognized it as coal and asked his group if anyone had experience of mining coal. Some Welsh families volunteered and were sent to the West Side Hills to set up mines. Many of the present residents are descendants of the original miners.
