Competition Time! Part 1

The first thing I would do is probably give Doc to my mum as she collects Nutcrackers and would take better care of him. He would stand amongst other brilliant Nutcrackers such as Ludwig the Sheepherder or Hans who smokes his pipe all day whilst selling his Pretzels. As you can tell most of the ones she owns are German or Swiss, it would be nice to extend the nationality and what would be better than an Irish?

Doc says, "I'm thirsty.. gimmie some whiskey or the shamrock gets it!"~ I am also of Irish heritage and I can vouch for the fact that most of us don't have levers in our backs that move our mouths.. some of my uncles do have hair like that, though.. I need something green in my house, send Doc to Seattle and I'll always make sure he gets his shot of Beam on occasion.

Doc, has a beautiful place on my windowsill in my apartment. He'd have a gorgeous view of the trees of Seattle. Every morning he'd wake up to the sound of the rain coming down and he'd remember how sweet it is to be Irish and how it rains there too in Ireland. He'd have a beer with me when I got home from work, and while I was at work, he could admire the trees and cats that walk by. If he got scared I'd just put him on the shelf near my bed where he can feel safe again. Doc would be a great friend in my home and the first real thing I'd own in Seattle (since I just moved here). :)

As a human being, I have basic needs and thus imagine there will come a time when I am NOT listening to The Big Roar. It hasn't happened yet, but I have to assume it will (i.e., sleep, weddings, funerals, etc.). For those unfortunate times, I need something that will remind me I SHOULD be listening to The Big Roar. At which, I will insert my finger into my new friend Doc's mouth and press down on the lever, setting off the pain receptors in my brain until demands tells me to press play once again on the undisputed Best F*%$ing Album of 2011. The St. Patrick's Day motif is perfect, as it will continually remind me how lucky I am to possess a copy of this fantastic wall of rock. In the meantime, I will still be playing The Big Roar on repeat, dreaming fondly of my sore fingers that could be. xo, -Bookshelf

I'd love to have Doc for two reasons: One I am a massive fan of Northern Irish music and would hold such a symbol of Ireland close to my heart. And tow it came form one of my favorite bands. I think you guys are amazing and to own something you once owned would feel like a great honor. It might be a small token but one that deserves to be treated with respect and I think I can provide that for Doc :) I will be attending your NYC gig and honestly cannot wait!

Well, I will not be seeing you until your Portland Show in a few weeks. My reason for wanting to receive the momento........dedication...? Why am I dedicated....well, I am making this trip (brandon, Manitoba---which is smack in the middle of Canada, only 1.5 hours from the geographic center of north america actually---------------- all the way to the western most parts of the USA--- namely Portland, Oregon) Throw that in google maps directions or mapquest if you wonder the intensity level...haha. It is akin to traveling from Cardiff to beograd, Serbia. wow. and It will be so worth it! to see you guys, because frankly---- you are one of a very small number of newer bands that I actual can believe in and not be disappointed by. Your music is a substantial part of my life's soundtrack. Thank you for touring North America so much! 1491 miles each way...... almost 3000 miles total. and so worth it. I can't wait to see you. I will be dreaming that 9669 may be broken out in some way shape or form. And it will be a glorious dream. And the fact that I can dream of anything when I should be dreaming of final examinations..... I'm impressed by that. here's to Portland! -Your fan from nowhere, Canada. xxx
